(4–6) Green Bay PackersVs. (5–5) Philadelphia Eagles 8:30 (Est)
Set for MNF this week. Aaron Rogers and the dilapidated Packers will travel to Philadelphia take on Carson Wentz and the Eagles. This game marks the 43rd meeting between the sides. The Packers lead in the series 26–16, out scoring the Eagles 854 to 699.
It’s do or die time in the NFL, and both of these teams are on the verge of death. The Packers are in 3rd place in the NFC north behind the Vikings and Lions. The Eagles are last in the NFC east. Combining for just 1 win in the last month of football. These teams are desperate for a W..
For the Packers to come out on top, the defense must show up. Simple right? Over the past month. The Packers D has allowed an absurd 480 yards on the ground , 1225 yards through the air, and an average of over 38 points per game. You can’t win with those numbers.
For the Eagles, it’s the opposite. Their offense has generated an average of just 21 point per game over the last month. They need to get the ground game going, totake pressure off their rookie QB. Wentz has 11 Touchdowns and 9 turnovers on the season. If they can lean on the run gamethe Eagles will have a great chance at winning this game.
I’m expecting a high scoring game on Monday. Give me the Packers in this one. 24–20
-The Good: Aaron Rodgers
Despite the Pack’s struggles. Rodgers is having another productive season. He has 28 total touchdowns through 10 games (25 passing, 3 rushing), and 10 turnovers. With the disarray of the Packers defense, Rodgers is averaging a ridiculous 41 pass attempts per game. I have zero faith that the defense can stop anyone, so look for Rodgers to keep throwing. High end QB1.
-The Bad: Wendell Smallwood
With Ryan Mathews out, Smallwood will get a chance to start this Monday night. In a small sample size, he’s shown some promise. Averaging 4.4 yards per carry on 57 carries. I have Smallwood as a high end flex this week against a packers team that has completely fallen apart over the past month.
-The Ugly: James Starks
The Packers rushing attack has been terrible. There’s no other way to describe it. Starks is averaging an anemic 2.5 yards per carry, and has yet to score a rushing touchdown this season. In addiction to the lack of production, he’s losing carries to Ty Montgomery and should loss more to Christine Michael. Unless you’re extremely desperate, I’d advise leaving Starks on the wire.
