The Pawn Shop: Week 12 Edition

By Jason Donio (@1littleindianjd)

Well another week is in the books and boy was that an interesting one from Dak putting up negative points to Tyrod Taylor coming from the bench to outscore Peterman and likely take his job back. 2017 has truly been a fantasy season unlike any in recent memory, just ask @reimerasff. With a rash of underperformers, it's been a busy year at the pawn shop and the best part of the pawn shop is that there is always something laying around. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure and there are definitely still plenty of treasures around the shop.

Samaje Perine, RB – Washington Redskins

Perine showed Sunday he can hang onto the ball for a whole game, couple that with the loss of Chris Thompson for the for the rest of the season as well as Rob Kelley who will miss multiple weeks, and this is his backfield for the foreseeable future. Perine racked up 117 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries and he will continue to see the volume for the coming weeks. If he continues to impress then that volume is likely his for the remainder of the season. Perine has a great opportunity and also is lacking a true threat to his job behind him, so Perine should be the top waiver add in all formats. Perine is owned in 28.7% of leagues.

Corey Coleman, WR – Cleveland Browns

Corey Coleman is back and looking to finish the season strong. In his first game since returning from injury he had 6 catches for 80 yards and the volume will continue to be there. As the Browns will continue to play from behind, the passing attack will be their only hope to stay in games and Coleman will be the main beneficiary of that. Coleman showed he has the ability in his rookie season and look for that to continue for the rest of the 2017 season. Coleman is owned in 20.8% of leagues and is a great flex option with a nice playoff schedule.

Austin Ekeler, RB – Los Angeles Chargers

Ekeler has shown he is more than just a nadcuff this season, he holds standalone value especially in deeper leagues. Ekeler had another TD in week 11 to make it four in four games. He will continue to get the opportunity to spell Gordon as well as see work in the passing game. Add that to the remaining schedule and Ekeler is a welcome addition to any team. Ekeler is owned in 20.5% of leagues and should be owned for a playoff push.

Josh Doctson, WR – Washington Redskins

With Pryor proving to be the biggest bust of the fantasy season, the door was open for Doctson to finally show what he is capable of. Doctson has been a decent fantasy starter given that Reed has also missed multiple games. Look for Doctson to have a stable floor as the Redskins finish the season with a softer schedule than most. Doctson is owned in 29.4 % of leagues and is a nice addition for that playoff run.

Well folks, those are some my favourite gems this week.  Always remember, who you drop is just as important as who you add.  So stop by the FLAFFL House on all social media and we can help you out with all those decisions. As always: may all you waiver adds turn to gold!
