This is it, week 13 is here. The final chance to get into playoff position. There are still plenty of nice things laying around the shop though. Whether it’s an new receiver you need to help with this last match up or a new running back to shore up the bench for a playoff run. Whatever the case take a look around and hopefully you find something that catches your eye. [Editor’s Note: Obviously this should have been published earlier in the week prior to waivers but if these guys are still available in your league, go get them!]
Rex Burkhead, RB – New England Patriots
I guess we should have seen this coming in the offseason. The patriots have a two-headed monster in the backfield now. While Dion Lewis is putting together a solid season, Rex Burkhead has been making some noise since week 8. Burkhead will continue to see his fair share of work, both on the ground and in the passing game. If he is still available in your leagues he is a great addition to any playoff bound team. Burkhead is 43.7% owned.
Jacquizz Rodgers, RB – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
With Doug Martin possibly missing time, we could see Rodgers take over the backfield for week 13. Even if Martin does not miss time, Rodgers will be worth adding for Martin owners or any running back needy team. We saw last season what Jacquizz can do with the bulk of the work when he gets the chance. Rodgers is only owned in 6% of leagues.
Cordarrelle Patterson, WR – Oakland Raiders
With Michael Crabtree suspended and Amari Cooper possibly out with an ankle injury, Cordarrelle Patterson could see increased volume next week. Patterson is a definite boom or bust play but if its boom you need for a chance at the playoffs then he is your guy. While the ball will likely get spread around in the absence of the Raider’s star receivers, Patterson can turn any touch into a big play. Patterson is only owned in 0.6% of leagues.
D.J. Foster, RB – Arizona Cardinals
With Kerwynn Williams missing time with cracked ribs, DJ Foster will see an increased workload behind starter Adrian Peterson. Foster will be a great addition to any running back needy team in points per reception formats, as the majority of his work will come in the passing game. Foster showed his abilities with a nice sideline catch in the closing moments of Sundays game. Foster is owned in 0% of leagues and is worthy of a flier in PPR formats.
Well folks, those are some my favourite gems this week. Always remember, who you drop is just as important as who you add. So stop by the FLAFFL House on all social media and we can help you out with all those decisions. As always: may all you waiver adds turn to gold!
